1969

1969 is led by the guitar power of Bill Barns, is carried by Ed Chenoweth on bass, and propelled by the drumming of Gino Romeo.  The year is indicative of their repertoire – Hendrix, Cream, Joplin, the Stones, and many other psychedelic icons of the era.  Come out and rock and never miss a beat with 1969.
Bill’s first band was the Spectacles in 1964.  He lived on Maui in the early ’70s playing with the rock band Moya.  For the last 30 years, Bill has been playing guitar and vocalizing in bands and restaurants in Sedona.  His band, 1969 captures the spirit of the flower power years with heavy doses of Cream and Jimi Hendrix.
Ed Chenoweth is also steeped in the music of the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.  He has been continuously involved with a variety of bands and styles of music including writing original songs.  As a newcomer to the valley Ed’s affinity for the 60’s rock era makes him a great fit for playing bass in 1969.
Originally from New Jersey, Gino began playing drums at the age of 10 and was exposed to a menagerie of music styles.  Shortly after moving to the Village of Oak Creek in 2007, he drummed with various local performers and now with 1969.
